January Monthly Favorites/Fails

I know this is a boring one! However, I could not have made it throughout the month with out this. I had a horrible reaction to a Bite Beauty Lip Treatment, it was a new package, and my lips became swollen with huge blisters. Those blisters turned into awful cold sores which were very painful. This is the only stuff that really helps me.

I would suggest if you are going to get this, to buy it from walgreens. They currently have  a $3.00 off coupon. I also like the one with the pump better becuase then it's easier to get out exactly how much you need. This was a life saver and a favorite! It's expensive.. but it actually works in releaving the pain, slowly takes the cold sores away, and heals it.

I got this for a Christmas present from my mom. I've been using it for about a month now! I only use it on my lashes but once this runs outs, I'll probably get another to use for my eyebrows, I have really sparse eyebrows and I'm interested to see if it will help them grow in. Now I try and use this nightly but I do forget sometimes. So I would say that I've been using this about 3-4 times per week.

I started noticing a difference about two weeks ago, I have some more growth coming in and the lashes on the end of my eye are growing longer. I will keep you guys updated on this how continues to work. I will try to use this for 3 months straight and I think I will notice a big difference then. However so far I;m loving it! I just need to be better about remembering to use it.

Fails:

I so wanted to like this foundation, when you first put it on, it has such a cooling feeling. It is so nice. Now typically my face is very oily, however with how dry it is where I live, and I've been using an ache treatment that has been drying out certain places on my face, so I have dry patches.

This balls up with certain primers and certain face lotions. It is so strange, it literally turns into tiny balls and flakes on my face and then falls of... So if I put my face lotion on like 20 minutes before I put on my foundation and don;t use a primer, it doesn't do that. Then there is the shade problem. Its so orange, I have to use like 5 pumps of my foundation whiter in order to get the shade to even work. Now once I've done all of that, it actually lasts pretty well.

Now my biggest problem with this foundation is I never know how it is going to react to my skin. If Im getting ready I want to trust that my foundation will go on smoothly and last all day, plus not look cakey. Now this foundation doesn't look cakey it actually looks pretty natural, but I've had days when this foundation didn't work and I had to redo all of my makeup. To me this is way too much work to make this foundation work.

So this is a pass..

I'm so sad I didn't like this. The shade was actually not too bad, it looked good under my eyes and also for covering up acne spots. What I didn't like about this was how it dried down. It is creamy but it is way too think, it never really blend into the skin, it just sat on top. So I need to keep working with it to see i I can find a way to make it work.

If you have any suggestions on how to make this work, please comment below with your ideas. If not this one will probably be decluttered.

I had this mascara a couple months ago and I forgot how awesome it is! I love the wand on this mascara because it pulls the lashes up and out, it keeps them curled. I love this mascara in just two coats, with three it becomes a little too spidery for me. It doesn't flake, it lasts all day and looks amazing. This is one of my favorite mascaras.

One warning about this mascara is that it doesn't flake at all but if you have long lower lashes this will probably smudge on you, so I would use a different mascara on the lower lashes.

I love this so much more than I thought I would! I have been using this mostly as a blush and an eyeshadow. When I use it as an eyeshadow I always put on a primer and concealer on my eyes. If I don't with this product it will crease. I love the shade of this as well, its a dusty red based terracotta. Its makes such a beautiful blush that lasts all day! I always get compliments when I wear this. I can't wait to try some more colors from this line. Let me know in the comments below if you have any other suggestions for colors!

Revlon
ColorStay Crème Eyeshadow,
Pisachio, Cherry,Vanilla

I wanted to like these, and my expectations of these was probably closer to the Maybelline pot cream eyeshadows. Those are amazing and very pigmented. These are not as pigmented as I would like. The more matte shades in this range are okay and I don't mind working with them but these shades are so sheer I don't like them. I would not recommend these shades, but the other darker shades I love and use them all the time. So these are a pass.

This cream contour stick is amazing! First off it is an awesome price, second it is such a perfect color. It's just cool toned enough for my pale skin. It also is very easy to blend out. You will want to use this before you put any powder on your face. I use my beauty blender to blend this out. I really love this product! They have three colors in this line, I've only tried the light one but the other two look great too! I bought mine at Walgreens but you can order it directly from the Jordan website as well.

I am so in love with this highlighter. I wasn't sure if it would work with my skin tone. However it sure does! I also like to wear it as a blush topper. The darker shade is a little too dark for my skin tone so I have been using this as an eyeshadow. I received this in my boxy charm and it has quickly become one of my favorite things I have ever received from boxy charm!

I did haul this in my New at the Drugstore Haul, I didn't like the color but I did give it a shot. I tried using this every which way I could think of. I used a light layer under my eyes, but it is still way too orange. If it was more peachy then I could make this work. However it is also way too creamy, it slips and slides everywhere and it looks so think, it never really blends into the skin. I just don't like this at all. I would say this is a huge pass.

I love this formula so much! I also love this color. It is a very bright cool toned blue. Usually I need two coats with most nail polish's but with this one I only needed one coat. I love how it dries down quickly, I'm not a patient person when it comes to waiting for nail polish to dry so I love how quickly this one dries. All of the color that I have used from this line have been amazing. It also lasts more than a week and majority of nail polish's will only last a few days on me before chipping.

Every nail polish Guru on Instagram and Youtube talk about how amazing this top coat is. So I had to order it and see what the type is all about. I haven't used a different top coat since. The smell is super strong on this one its like 5 time stronger than a regular nail polish so just be warned of that. It dries within almost two minutes of application. It's kind of like putting a thin layer of plastic over nail polish. It helps any and almost every nail polish last longer and dry faster. I only use one coat of this. It is amazing and I couldn't recommend it more!

What are your thoughts on some of these products? Also what were your monthly favorites an/or fails?

I had so many mixed feelings about this concealer when I first used it. The reason I did is because it is so high coverage, and I'm used to using concealers that aren't so I was using way too much at first.

The best way I have found to use this is to put it on before I have foundation on. I will put three small dots under my eyes to cover up my dark circles and then also put it on my acne spots. I also get a lot of redness around my nose, especially since I've been sick, this covers up everything beautifully! However my number one advice with this one is to use it sparingly.

I would also like to add that they have an amazing range of shades for this concealer! I also like that there is a pale enough shade for my skin tone, there is actually one that is even lighter, I will probably get that one next to just see how the shades compare.

In this photo, I am wearing the Tarte shape tape concealer. I love how it looks! Its so flawless. In this photo I am also wearing that Neutrogena, Hydro Boost Hydrating Tint, in Classic Ivory. Now in this photo it actually doesn't look too bad but read below on my thoughts on this particular foundation.

PS Sorry about my lips in this photo, this is was from the allergic reaction that I had from the Bite Beauty Lip Treatment. (Also I wasn't driving, I just took a photo so I could compare how this foundation lasted while I was at work.)

This is a beautiful eyeshadow! I love using it as a a highlighter too, since I am so pale this is a gorgeous highlight. Now as I've been researching this I think they are discontinuing it! That makes me so sad because this is so affordable and so beautiful. So if you are at Ulta and you see this on clearance, buy it!

This is so creamy and that is something that I love the most about it. I use this mainly as an inner corner highlight. I really do love this single shadow. I've used some of the other Essence eysahdow's and they aren't my favorite, just this one is good out of the line.

Well, I was super sick most of the month, and I still am, so I needed a quick easily palette that I could use to get ready with. I used this palette a lot! It was so easy for every day looks. I especially love the transitions shades in this palette. I also loved pairing this with the Essence Snowflake single eyeshadow.
